Setting the stage for the big reveal

Jose contacted me months in advance to assist him with planning the perfect Big Island engagement. Jose was the sweetest and wanted so badly to make the grand gesture just that – grand. We came up with a plan and I sent him maps and instructions to make the day go really smoothly. Our team arrived early to ensure our planned location was available and decorated with her favorite pink roses and candles. Jose and I were communicating all day, so I knew what they would be wearing and when they arrived on site. Jose led a very surprised Scarlett to the middle of the flower heart and got down on one knee to ask her the question we girls dream about. She said “Yes!” and the rest is history!

Celebrate your Big Island engagement!

After the sweet, heartfelt Hawaii proposal, I was able to capture the happy couple making calls to their family to share the news about their engagement. I LOVE when I get to capture them calling their parents, siblings or friends and share with them (and show off the sparkler!). Could not be happier for these two, and getting engaged in Hawaii was a perfect backdrop for them.

Big Island Engagement Photos at Sunset are the BEST

After the happy couple had time to celebrate and tell their families, we headed down the beach to take some engagement photos. I had such a fantastic time with this super photogenic couple! You could tell they were madly in love and so happy! I love the variety that the Big Island offers for engagement photos. There is white sand, black sand, lava rock, palm groves and sometimes we even get turtles and monk seals! We were super surprised to see this big guy on the beach. Don’t worry, we stayed FAR away from the seal and turtle – photos taken with a long lens only!
